Cold Tucks Us In

Find me suspended above rooftops
As mist and chimney smoke drift
Hold on before the clock stops
Tearing the penultimate rift
See clearly - how our eyes shine bright
Brighter still before they open
While all we hope in
Disappears with first light
Dream with me for one last night

  1. I really like how the last line brings such a powerful sense of finality to the poem.

  2. Thanks. I like to build up to one last line, but I am not always sure where I will end up in my thoughts and rhyme.

  3. Have you seen the site http://darkcopy.com/ ?
I sometimes use Notepad on my computer when I don't have a pen and paper available, and Dark Copy is an even simpler editor. In some ways it resembles this site.

Love that line. It definately deals with the universal that dreams are an escape. For everyone; the romantics and the realists. We are all dreamers at night.

  5. I haven't seen it, but I am going to right this second:) Thanks for the tip....it beats having to go back and type up all that I've written on napkins and scraps of paper:):) (I still haven't even coming close to word processing my poems....some day I will:)
